Utility Scale Energy Storage Technologies

Energy Storage installations have ever increasing financial & operational benefits as installed storage capacity grows.

Storage technology choice is a major issue. Many installations have used Li-Ion batteries but Graphene is a new and better technology option on the market today with greater energy density.

Most importantly, Graphene storage is chemical free, eliminating the risks associated with chemical reactions and thermal runaway and greatly simplifying siting concerns.

Energy Storage Modules

The individual modules allow bi-directional energy flow so they can charge and release power simultaneously without any leakage. The lack of chemical process at cell level means the modules are highly efficient, have no thermal runaway and no degradation.

Complete System

Graphene technology offers a new generation of long duration energy storage —one that can handle high demand safely to support a renewable power grid that meets the demands of today and tomorrow.

Graphene has a wider operating temperature range (-22F to 140 F), 100% depth of charge capability and a DC round trip charging efficiency of 99%.

Graphene batteries can be cycled multiple times per day with an estimated life time of 500, 000 cycles.

Graphene is a one-atom-thick sheet of carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal lattice, making it incredibly strong, flexible, and conductive. It's essentially a single layer of graphite, a common form of carbon.

Graphene has gained recognition for its potential in various applications due to its remarkable properties, including high electrical and thermal conductivity, exceptional strength (about 200 times stronger than steel), and flexibility.

Graphene is now commercially available for utility scale long term storage applications. These utility scale solutions exhibit key characteristics such as 12+ hour duration, 100% depth of discharge, and the ability to cycle multiple times per day.  They are chemical free and thus have no thermal runaway or fire risk.

These utility scale energy storage systems are a turnkey containerized system consisting of an energy storage battery system, a monitoring system, a battery management unit, a dedicated fire protection system, a dedicated air conditioner, an energy storage converter, and an isolation transformer, all integrated in a 40-feet container.

The solid-state graphene-based technology exhibits the superfast charge and discharge of a supercapacitor, while delivering the ability to store energy for months and precisely control its release over 12+ hours and while being cycled 4 times per day without any degradation. With no heat signature, the hazards of lithium are eliminated making sustainablestored power both effective and safe.

Graphene is the only sustainable long duration storage presently available that can replace lithium with superior safety, density and performance.

With no thermal runaway or fire risk, the Graphene containers can be stacked for minimal spacing. Graphene Energy Storage Systems are available in 20′ (2 MWh) and 40′ (4.2 MWh) configurations.
